Our Story

Seagull Chemicals came to life in the year 1982 as a small scale partnership between two Chemical Engineering batchmates from UICT, Mumbai, Mr. Nandkishor S. Bengali and Mr. Padmanabh S.Walimbe.
In its initial days, Seagull Chemicals produced a range of textile Dye Intermediates like Pyrazolones, MPDSA and Acetyl MPDSA, etc. After becoming a private limited company in the 1987 and more so at the turn of the 21st century, as the boom period for dyes came to an end, the company ventured into the flourishing pigment intermediates category.

We developed an Innovative process for the Intermediate of red pigment, PABA, which is largest selling Pigment colour. In the past 14-15 years, shifting to this new process has not only helped the company save on time and increase productivity, but has also helped it become one of the largest global producers of PABA (Para Amino Benzamide). Currently, Seagull Chemicals has the capacity to produce 60 Mts. Of PABA (Para Amino Benzamide) every month.

MISSION AND FOCUS

Seagull Chemicals Private Limited aims to become one of the major suppliers of pigments intermediates across the globe. At present, apart from supplying almost 50% of our manufactured products to the domestic market and select merchant exporters, we also export them to countries like Germany, Brazil, Mexico, Japan, US & China. Our focus for the near future is to venture into hitherto un-tapped markets of the east, like South Korea and Taiwan.

QUALITY & ASSURANCE

Before any of the pigments produced in our manufacturing plants hit the market, they go through a series of rigorous tests in our highly equipped Quality Control Laboratory. Here, they are passed through many routine analytical tests like assay, melting points, Insoluble and HPCL. This stringent process of quality checks has ensured that we deliver nothing but the best to our customers, both national and international.

RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT

The industry that we are in, is a highly competitive one. To be a leader in this highly volatile market, one needs to constantly research and develop newer products. This is why our research and development laboratory boasts of nothing less than only the latest in world-class equipment.Our present range of pigment intermediates like Para Amino Benzamide&Veterinary Drug Intermediate (Para Nitro Benzamide), are products developed by our in-house Research and Development team. They have also been researching and developing our latest, namely 4-Methyl 3 Amino Benzamide and 4-Methoxy 3-Amino Benzamide, which are to be introduced into the market shortly.
